Felted wool
Felted wool is one of Ivanhoe’s most valued qualities. We start by knitting wool material on our knitting machines. Then the material is processed in a washing machine until it reaches the density, weight, and feel we want.
It is a process that requires great precision. Wool is a natural, living fiber that is affected by factors such as dyeing and humidity. Small variations can influence the final result, which is why experience and careful control are important at every step.
The result is a dense material with a distinct character. It is one of the most important qualities in Ivanhoe’s range and is used in about 80% of our collection, from lighter garments at 325 g/m² to our heaviest jackets in felted wool at 800 g/m².
We only use mulesing-free wool and Bluesign®-certified yarn, as well as undyed wool in the models where it is included.
