Wash wool by hand

If you want to wash wool by hand, that’s fine, but it’s important to be gentle. Don’t let the garment soak, as this can damage the wool fibers. Wash at a moderate temperature and make sure the wash water and rinse water are about the same temperature.

Use a detergent for wool or delicate fabrics. Rinse the garment in clean water and avoid wringing it out. Instead, gently press out the water. Feel free to lightly reshape the garment and then let it dry flat, preferably on a towel or drying rack.

The best thing for wool is almost always to air the garment first. Fresh air often goes a long way. When you do need to wash it, there are a few simple things that help the garment stay nice longer.
