Ivanhoe is a family business with deep roots in the heart of Gällstad. This is where it all began in 1946, and it is here that we still, stitch by stitch, help knit the future. With strength in our heritage, we carry forward a craft tradition that has been passed down through generations.

Family Knits
Ivanhoe is a family business with deep roots in Gällstad. Our journey began here in 1946, and we are still here today. Over the years, we have built upon a heritage of knowledge, craftsmanship, and a love for knitting with wool.
Knitted in Gällstad
At our factory in Gällstad, we either knit fabric by the meter or individual parts, such as sleeves, front, and back pieces.
Ivanhoe and Sustainability
In 2026, we will take the next step in our sustainability journey. We are currently finalizing our second climate report, setting our climate targets, and developing an overall roadmap for the future. Below is an overview of achieved milestones and upcoming tasks:
What does weight g/m² mean?
g/m² means grams per square meter and is used to describe how much material is in a fabric. When talking about wool, g/m² indicates how dense or light a wool quality is. A lower weight usually means a thinner and lighter material, while a higher weight typically means the fabric is thicker, denser, and often feels warmer.
